Bam-Bam asked for a write-up on the new Temporal Operative BOFF abilities, so here it it.
I'm going to cover some of the basic characteristics of this specialization, then ground, as anyone can buy a spec token and get these going, then space, because you have to buy special ships to use them.
Temporal Operative is generally a physical damage based ability set, and most of damage dealing abilities are, damage over time. There are some exceptions, but I find those, for the most part, less than useful.
Temporal Operative also adds 'entropy', it doesn't really fit the definition of entropy, but they had to call it something I guess. How 'entropy' works, you get an entropy counter, when the counter reaches 5, you have max entropy. 'Entropy' does nothing by it's self, but is meant to enhance other abilities.
Ground.
I only use one ground based Temporal Operative BOFF ability, I will experiment with others in the future, but I doubt I will really use them, as nothing seems to stay alive long enough for them to be useful.
The one I use on ground is paradox bomb, it is a, Area Of Affect, pull for 4 seconds, then burst AOE damage. It works really well with cold fusion flash, as paradox bomb pulls many enemies to the center, right in the killzone of cold fusion flash.
The other BOFF abilities I have an interest in are:
Temporal Narcosis, 5 second DOT with confuse, I would use this on bosses as it would not be fully utilized on weaker opponents.
Entropic Contagion, AOE DOT every second for ten seconds, also for boss use.
Degeneration, DOT that increases in strength every half second for five seconds. SHORT cool-down.
Space.
Channeled Deconstruction, increasing DOT every second, I use this as an entropy builder for high HP targets, and a general killing tool.
Timeline Collapse, AOE pull then large burst damage, I use this in conjunction with gravity well, pull everything in range to center, then detonates. It is an entropy consumer, works well with Channeled Deconstruction on high HP targets.
I have also used the following and have not been impressed:
Entropic Cascade, AOE DOT low damage every second for ten seconds, the AOE part of this one is a bit misleading as it will only strike one other target at a time, I found this ability very good at killing things that are NOT your target.
Other abilities I will try in the future:
Rapid Decay, DOT and damage resistance reduction, high damage every second for five seconds, duration increased by entropy.
